SUMMARY

Perform system application analysis, design, and maintenance.  Work closely with users to improve and support existing systems as well as develop new ones as needed.  Support Vendor supplied applications as necessary.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Work with users to identify program changes or advancements needed.
• System programming – Maintain and develop iSeries in-house utilities and programs using CLP language and RPG  (SQL will be a plus).
• User support – Assist all users for trouble shooting, research and case study
• ERP and Accounting application development and maintenance
• Perform function improvement analysis.
• Develop logic required for processing.
• Program the application system according to company standards.
• Test and Debug your system changes or additions prior to implementation
• Install new software releases of any vendor provided software.

• 7+ years experience with CL and RPG programming, Sequel or other system utilities.
• 7+ years experience in iSeries technical support role

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Qualified candidate will have a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent formal training and experience.
• Applicants should also possess:
• Strong logical design skills as well as system analysis abilities.
• Seven years experience with online programming in the AS400/iSeries Environment.

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Familiar with iSeries CLP, RPG, ILE, SQL, Query, Message handling, OS400 Database and iSeries Hardware including HMC control panels.
• Familiar with using multiple LPARS.
• Familiar with ERP application development.
• Familiar with Accounting application development.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
