SUMMARY An Area Sales Manager is responsible for the overall successful management of a list of Plumbing and Irrigation distribution accounts within a certain territory or region and to promote the JM Eagle brand in the marketplace. This includes establishing volume targets for each account and subsequently meeting those targets on a monthly basis to ensure the success of the entire department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Manage the daily business activities of assigned accounts which includes: provide quotations, pricing, monitoring shipments, scheduling of orders, order entry, securing new orders and ensuring the highest level of service possible; under the guidance of the Company’s Sales SOP. 2. Consistently review target achievement performance and formulate a plan with the guidance of management to improve or immediately overcome short falls. 3. Submits internet call reports to supervisor to communicate market information and recommendations collected during calls to maximize company performance. 4. Responsible to review open order file to ensure all orders and back orders are shipped in timely fashion. 5. Develop necessary account base in assigned territory to ensure the Company has adequate market share in the area to meet sales target objectives and utilize Express Service Trucks 6. Monitor plants inventory levels and communicates with management and production scheduling to ensure availability of products at correct locations. 7. Develop and maintain product and technical knowledge of all of the company’s products by attending various technical training seminars offered and self-study. 8. Respond to customers requests for quotation in a timely, accurate manner and follows all jobs to completion. 9. Responsible for sending samples, literatures, testing data, and necessary documentation to the customers. 10. Initiate and follow through the resolution with Product Assurance department of any dispute with assigned customers. 11. Work closely with Production Department to ensure availability of product in the appropriate areas. 12. Assist the Credit Department with collection issues and resolve disputes with customer accounts.
TRAVEL
Available to travel a minimum 80% of time to meet with customers, contractors, engineers and municipalities to educate and promote JM Eagle brand.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES NONE QUALIFICATIONS College degree preferred, with 2- 5 years sales experience with PVC pipe has it relates to Irrigation and Plumbing market. Equivalent experience in sales, telemarketing or customer service could be acceptable. Excellent communications skills- both verbal and written are required. Individual must have initiative and overall good working attitude. COMPUTER SKILLS Basic PC knowledge- Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook.
